Online videos appearing to show Idaho mass murderer Bryan Kohberger going about his daily routine in solitary confinement have sparked an investigation.

“We are aware of the videos circulating online and are investigating the matter,” officials with the Idaho Department of Corrections said in a statement Friday. “While we cannot yet confirm the veracity of the videos, if verified, they are a clear violation of IDOC policy and the parties responsible will be held accountable, up to and including termination.”

Authorities warn that the videos making the rounds could be AI-enhanced or otherwise fake.

The IODC said emails had been sent to staff reminding them it’s prohibited to publicly sharing security footage from inside a corrections facility and that anyone who violates that rule
