A man has been arrested after an incident in a Merseyside park on Friday afternoon.

Police were called by a woman who said a man had been following and filming her as she was pushing her baby in a pram round Birkenhead Park.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of stalking following the incident.

In a statement on Friday evening, Merseyside Police said there was 'incorrect information circulating online' and urged people not to speculate.
