LONG BEACH, Miss. (WLOX) - Living on the Coast, insurance companies don’t want to insure homes without a fortified roof.

The owners of Husband Roofing and Contracting said the need for stronger roofs keeps them busy.

“When you do re-roof, it’s gonna prevent losing shingles in the event of another Katrina, and if you do lose all of your shingles, the advantage of a fortified roof is that the plywood itself is adhered to the roof and sealed,” he said. “So in theory, you can lose every shingle and still not get water in your house.”

Junior Husband is the owner. After Hurricane Zeta, he says, roofing needs skyrocketed. In two years, his business completed 180 roofs.
