Royal Caribbean has named Kellie Gerardi as its new "godmother" of the Star of the Seas cruise ship

A representative for Diana Ross, who was previously named godmother, confirmed to PEOPLE on Tuesday the singer "will be unable to appear" for the ship's blessing "due to unforeseen circumstances"

The Star of the Seas is Royal Caribbean's newest addition to its lineup of cruise ships and features five stage shows, 40 food and drink offerings and a Category 6 waterpark

Royal Caribbean has just named their new “godmother” for the Star of the Seas cruise ship.

A representative for the cruise line confirmed to PEOPLE that research astronaut and payload specialist Kellie Gerardi will bless the company’s newest vessel, its crew and the many future passengers yet to board.
