TRAVERSE CITY — A ruling on whether a man accused of a random series of stabbings in the Traverse City Walmart is competent to stand trial will wait for now.

Grand Traverse County Prosecutor Noelle Moeggenberg told 86th District Court Judge Robert Cooney that she plans on calling the examiner who evaluated Bradford Gille to testify. And Moeggenberg said she wanted the same judge who presided over the case so far — Michael Stepka — to hear all the testimony in the case.
