BRAINERD — Greg Anderson’s second round qualifying run of 6.614 elapsed time at a speed of 204.76 mph propelled him into the top qualifying position after opening day of the 42nd annual NHRA Lucas Oil Nationals Friday, Aug. 15, at Brainerd International Raceway.

Glenn came into the weekend as the two-time defending champion and he moved into the top spot on the second to last run with an ET of 6.616, traveling at 204.79 mph. Anderson and Matt Hartford, the leader after the first round of qualifying, made the last run of the session and Anderson came through with the clinching run to take the top spot from Green.
