OMAHA, Neb. —
Three of the five people arrested in a human trafficking investigation made their first appearances in federal court Friday.
Thirty-six-year-old Kentakumar Chaudhari, 42-year-old Rashmi Ajit Samani, and 32-year-old Amit Prahladbhai Chaudhari were arrested Tuesday during an FBI investigation. All waived their right to a detention hearing.
Judges deemed them a flight risk and a danger to the public, ordering all three to remain detained under U.S. Marshals Service custody.
When scheduling Amit Chaudhari’s next hearing, his attorney, Joy Shiffermiller, said, “I think his issues are slightly different.”
KETV confirmed Amit Chaudhari is being held in Saline County, Nebraska. It is unknown where the other two are being held.
