OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - Tyrese Haliburton was among many former Oshkosh North basketball stars in attendance for the official dedication of the Frank Schade Fieldhouse on Friday night.
Schade led the Spartans for 31 seasons, racking up 437 wins. Before that, he coached for 11 seasons at Plymouth, bringing his career total to 609 wins.
In his final year, Schade coached eventual NBA All-Star Haliburton in his junior season. The Spartans started 25-0 before falling to Stevens Point in a sectional final.
The following year, longtime assistant Brad Weber took over as head coach and the Spartans went 27-1 and captured a Division 1 state championship in Haliburton’s senior season.
