MT. ZION, Ill. (WAND) - With Mt. Zion students going back to school Friday, Pony Express Days has been the ideal family-friendly event to wrap up summer.

The four-day event hosted by the Mt. Zion Lions Club will take place from Aug. 14-17 at 5318 Traughber Road in Mt. Zion.

Among the activities are a carnival, including unlimited rides for Armband Nights on Thursday and Friday, Mud Drags and the Mt. Zion Odd Fellow Mud Volleyball Tournament.

Eric Montgomery, who organized "Live. Like. Jack." Night on Friday, said that multiple local businesses joined in to provide free armbands for children in Jack's class.

"They just wanted to help out and made it possible for about 172 kids to have a free time tonight and just enjoy themselves," Montgomery said.
