DAVIS, Calif. —
Davis is set to honor Officer Natalie Corona, who was shot and killed in the line of duty six years ago, with a new splash pad named "Natalie's Corner."
The memorial sits at the corner of B and 5th Streets.
Vanessa Errecarte, a steering committee member, said the goal is to keep Officer Corona's spirit alive through the joy she brought to others.
"I don't think there's anybody that doesn't remember the night Natalie Corona was shot," said Errecarte.
Natalie's Corner is intended to bring joy to the community, especially kids.
"She represented such happiness and joy and was so proud of what she did and waterparks represent happiness and joy," said Errecarte.
Beginning Saturday, families can enjoy the splash pad for free, with daily access through the rest of the summ
