If you’d like to own a one-of-a-kind piece of art rooted in Cheboygan talent, an online auction is now open for the original "Saturday Afternoon in Cheboygan" canvases.

The canvases were created by 20 local artists and then digitized to create the new collaborative mural in Festival Square, which was publicly unveiled in July. The Cheboygan mural is an interpretation of Georges Seurat’s famous “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.”

“Everybody is loving the creativity of it, how we utilized so many local artists to give their interpretation of this masterpiece that they kind of put their own twist on and recreated,” said Polly Schneider, director for Cheboygan Main Street DDA. “People are loving it.
