EL CENTRO — The El Centro Planning and Zoning Commission Tuesday night approved issuing a recommendation to the city council to approve amendments to regulate mobile vending on sidewalks, in parks, on private property and city streets.
Associate Planner Andrea Montano explained to the commission the distances vendors would have to be from other areas.
The setbacks for street vendors include 50 feet from corners, 50 feet from other vendors, 10 feet for access infrastructure, 50 feet from driveways, 300 feet from schools and 200 feet from community events.
The setbacks for sidewalk vendors are 10 feet from corners, 50 feet from other vendors, 10 feet from access infrastructure, eight feet from business entrances, 300 feet from schools and 200 feet from community events.
