Melania Trump, wife of US President Donald Trump, addressed the suffering of children affected by the war in Ukraine and Russia in a personal letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to two White House officials quoted by Reuters .

President Trump hand-delivered the letter during his recent summit with Putin in Alaska. The letter reportedly mentioned the abductions of Ukrainian children linked to the ongoing war.

Ukraine has accused Russia of forcibly relocating approximately 20,000 children to Russian or occupied territories - actions Kyiv considers war crimes and possible acts of genocide under international law.
