Nearly 50 people gathered at the Dundee Area Senior Center to learn about fraud prevention during the Monroe Community Credit Union ’s Snack and Safeguard series, according to a community announcement.

The event, held Aug. 6, was the first of its kind in Dundee and the third in Monroe County. Attendees received guidance from Shawna Ardis, MCCU account services specialist, Sgt. Bryan Sparks of the Dundee Police Department and Alexandra Rudolph from Rudolph Insurance Services. They shared strategies for identifying scams and protecting personal information in the digital age.

Ardis emphasized that MCCU will never request full card numbers, PINs, security codes or passwords over the phone. She also recommended using tap-to-pay as a secure payment method.
