State gas prices declined for the second consecutive week and reached an average of $2.65 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday, down from last week's price of $2.73 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
The average fuel price in state declined about 9 cents since last month. According to the EIA, gas prices across the state in the last year have been as low as $2.51 on Dec. 16, 2024, and as high as $2.98 on Aug. 19, 2024.
A year ago, the average gas price in Texas was 11% higher at $2.98 per gallon.
