PROVIDENCE – One of the latest additions to the downtown Providence skyline is a towering crane on Richmond Street, attributable to the construction of Brown University’s new life sciences laboratories .
Construction on the William A. and Ami Kuan Danoff Life Sciences Laboratories – which will span the block between Elm and Ship streets – launched in 2024, and the university anticipates a spring 2027 completion date.
Once finished, the seven-story, 300,000-square-foot facility will host labs for Brown University’s research on aging, immunity, brain science, cancer, biomedical engineering and other life sciences fields. The building will be the university’s first property powered by 100% renewable electricity.
