100 Years Ago, 1925: Word has been received from Atlantic City that Vincent Caruso, Chester’s boy musical prodigy, made such a hit on the Steel Pier last week that Professor O. Vasselia, leader of the famous band there, engaged the local youngster to sing with his band next week. On next Thursday night, Master Caruso will broadcast over Station WIP and Station WPG, from the Steel Pier. The Sixth Ward youngster last winter scored a big hit in Florida where he was the featured attraction at one of the leading parks of the southern playground and at the present time, is considering an invitation to go to Hollywood to enter the movie game.
