WEST FARGO, N.D. — In 1925, Caterpillar Tractor Company was formed to build steam- and gas-powered farm equipment to replace machines run by horses.
To celebrate 100 years, the company is bringing its Centennial Tour to locations across the company, including recently to West Fargo, where employees got to see the company's history in a traveling display.
"We're letting all our employees be part of a celebration. And so the what you see behind us is a tour, and it's gone to all the Caterpillar facilities worldwide," said Paul Olsen, facility manager of the Caterpillar Remanufacturing plant in West Fargo.
At the 375,000 square foot West Fargo plant, 260 employees take used Caterpillar equipment and refurbish it into like-new condition for resale.
