INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after five people were shot on the near northeast side of Indianapolis early Saturday morning.

According to IMPD, around 3:30 a.m. Aug. 16, officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 3100 block of Brouse Avenue , near North Keystone Avenue and East 30th Street.

When officers arrived on scene, they said they found three people shot. Shortly after, police said a fourth victim walked into Community East Hospital.

Hours later, early Sunday, Aug. 17, IMPD said a person was found shot in the 4100 block of Meadows Way , near 38th Street and North Sherman Drive.

Investigators believe this victim is another victim from the shooting at Brouse Avenue.

This now brings the total number of victims to five.
