HAZELTON — For Valley senior lineman Jesus Urias, how the Vikings do in 2025 comes down to two words.

“Stay ready.”

Yes, the defending Snake River Conference champions may have lost 11 seniors. But Valley isn’t scaling back what it wants to accomplish. This year's Vikings are ready to leave their mark.

”We lost some key players,” Urias told the Times-News . “We lost some leadership, we lost some experience. Just getting ready to bring some guys up and getting ready to just reload and repeat.”

The work started as soon as the season ended last year. Motivated by a heartbreaking quarterfinal loss to Hagerman, the Vikings went to work in their respective winter and spring sports. Organized summer workouts in the weight room or team outings at the lake or in town.
