Pictures show the aftermath stabbing after a 55-year-old man was knifed on a busy South London street. Met Police officers were called to New Cross Road - near New Cross Gate station - shortly after 5.30am this morning (Saturday, August 16) to reports of the knife attack.

The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to hospital where his injuries were found to be neither life threatening or changing, a Met spokesperson confirmed.

Another man, aged 36, has been arrested following the incident and remains in police custody. The busy road remains shut at Saturday lunchtime between New Cross Gate station and the Marquis of Granby pub while police probe for evidence.
