GOLF icon Gary Player says it is a "tragedy" that Jordan Spieth isn't the best player in the world.

Spieth has three majors to his name, winning both the Masters and the US Open by the age of 21 in 2015.

But since then the 32-year-old has struggled and has won just one PGA Tour title.

Dallas-born Spieth is currently sat at No.51 in the world rankings.

Player is a Hall of Fame member and lifted nine majors during his glittering career.

And the South African legend did not hold back in expressing his disappointment that Spieth has not been able to remain at the top of the sport .
