SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -Springfield Public Schools confirmed Friday that the Central High School Bulldogs will not be competing at the varsity level for the 2025 season.

According to Central High, the reason for this is due to a lack of participation numbers and student safety.

The football season for Central High is set to kick off in two weeks.

SPS Athletic Director Josh Scott confirms the news and says that Central High hopes to play the regular junior varsity schedule.
