The Kansas City Chiefs could be without receiver Rashee Rice for a significant portion of the 2025 season.
On Thursday, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Rice's disciplinary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 30. The timing of the scheduled hearing is significant because, as Schefter states, this means that Rice is now likely playing in the first four games of the season.
On Friday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported the NFL "initially proposed a lengthy suspension" for Rice.
The NFL initially proposed a lengthy suspension that would sideline #Chiefs WR Rashee Rice for over half the season. And while a Sept. 30 hearing date has been set, it’s still possible a settlement could be reached before the season. @NFLGameDay @nflnetwork pic.twitter.com/kHOozuu1RW — Tom Peli
