A mass grave was uncovered after residents called local authorities because of a suspicious looking "mound" by a river. ‌

Police arrived to the eastern district of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, suspecting it was related to a gas leak . ‌

They suspected the odd looking shape was a " hose that was pumping fuel " so dug to see if it was the case, according to Félix Solórzano, deputy chief of the Eastern District of Santo Domingo. ‌
