• The Indiana Dunes State Park consists of 2,182 acres of beaches, forests, marshes, swamps and sand dunes that tower up to 200 feet, providing sweeping panoramic views of the coast and the Chicago skyline.
• The park opened to the public in 1926, when admission cost just 10 cents. It was later surrounded by the Indiana Dunes National Park, which has seen a surge in visitation since it was elevated from a National Lakeshore to a National Park in 2019.
