ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A 35-year-old man is in critical but stable condition after being shot early this morning on Flint Street, according to RPD.

Officers arrived on scene around 5 a.m. at 411 Flint Street for a report of a person shot. Evidence was found of shots being fired in the roadway. Shortly after, Strong Memorial Hospital reported a walk-in gunshot victim with an upper body wound.

Police said a 25-year-old city resident, who is on parole for a weapon charge, was located nearby, matching the suspect description, and taken into custody without incident. A loaded handgun was recovered.

Investigators determined the shooting happened during a street party where a fight broke out.

The investigation is ongoing.
