LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The National Park Service is shutting down Lake Powell's Wahweap Main Launch Ramp on Monday, Aug. 18, as water levels decline.

It's the busiest ramp at the nation's second-largest reservoir, but officials say it will be "inoperable" after this weekend. All other services and the Wahweap Main courtesy dock will remain open.

Also, Rainbow Bridge dock will be moved to deeper water on Monday, Aug. 25, officials said. The change means easy dock-to-trail access to Rainbow Bridge will not be available until water levels rise again. Restrooms at the dock will remain open.

Last week, Wahweap was restricted to boats 30 feet or under, and larger boats were routed to the Stateline Auxiliary Ramp. The north side of the Wahweap ramp has surface damage.
