NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans police arrested a suspect in connection to a homicide after a man was found dead Saturday morning in the St. Claude neighborhood.

Officers arrested Daniel Spencer, who is accused of the fatal shooting. NOPD initially reported the man died of a punctured wound, but now say he was shot.

Spencer was booked with second-degree murder and battery.

Officers responded shortly after 8:10 a.m. to a call of a “man down” in the 1200 block of Lesseps Street, police said.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive male. New Orleans EMS confirmed the victims was deceased from an apparent puncture wound.
