Area high school football teams had one last dress rehearsal on Friday evening before the 2025 season officially kicks off next weekend. Here is a roundup of the area’s jamboree action.

STEVENSON – Cherokee County’s varsity football starters scored on three of their four offensive possessions in a 27-3 football scrimmage victory at North Jackson on Friday.

Keyshawn Woods ran for 79 yards on 13 carries and scored a touchdown for the Class 4A, No. 2 Warriors. Woods scored his touchdown with 8:23 remaining in the second quarter. Arnol Francisco’s extra point gave the Warriors a 7-0 lead.
