GRAND FORKS, ND (KXNET) - A 50-year-old woman was seriously injured Friday morning in a crash involving a semi-truck on North Dakota Highway 15, authorities said.
The crash happened around 7:52 a.m. near mile marker 122, close to 22nd Street NE. The woman was driving a 2014 Nissan Juke eastbound behind a semi that was turning right onto County Road 13.
Troopers said she tried to steer around the truck, left the road, overcorrected, and hit the trailer. She was not wearing a seat belt and was taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
The semi driver, a 71-year-old man, was not injured.
The woman faces charges for failing to maintain her lane and control of the vehicle. The crash remains under investigation.
