As I watched President Donald Trump’s press conference announcing the federal government’s takeover of the Washington, D.C., police department, and deploying the National Guard to assist them, it was impossible to not notice the hypocrisy.
Trump cherry-picked violent incidents to paint a picture of chaos, ignoring that crime has dropped sharply in both D.C. and the nation overall.
