PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Eagles will face a starting rookie quarterback in Saturday’s preseason game against the Cleveland Browns. But it won’t be Shedeur Sanders.

Dillon Gabriel, the third-round rookie out of Oregon, is expected to start for Cleveland at Lincoln Financial Field, the franchise announced on Saturday morning.

The Browns have been dealing with a myriad of quarterback injuries, bringing a level of uncertainty over which signal-callers the Eagles would face in their second preseason game.

Joe Flacco, the presumed Week One starter, is not expected to play due to rest. Meanwhile, injuries will likely keep Sanders and Kenny Pickett off the field.
