Canton Township — Suzy Golden was supposed to give up her 11-year-old sniffling Shih Tzu named Jasmine weeks ago. But almost two months later, and she just can't anymore.
"She's a million dollars," Golden said. "I can't give her up now."
Despite Jasmine actually being free, when Golden took her first look at her, she said it was love at first sight. Now, she and her 10-pound "foster failure" are inseparable. Everyone at the Waltonwood Cherry Hill assisted living facility knows of Golden and Jasmine.
"Suzy and that little dog over there, they're crazy for each other," said Judy Orlandi, another resident at Waltonwood. "She keeps trying to get me to adopt a dog now."
