SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Local pro-democracy advocates participated in a National Day of Action rally in Springfield on Saturday.

Hundreds of families attend Vox Church sneaker and school supply giveaway

Residents spent the day on Boston Road and Parker Street protesting against what they call an 'anti-democratic government takeover' being led by President Donald Trump. One of the rally's organizers told 22News that many have lost their confidence in the president and believe he is taking the country down a dark path.

"He is not abiding by the Constitution or laws at all, he's doing his own thing, and it's really scary," said Dee Fellows, organizer for Defending Democracy in Hampden County. "We're in a very difficult time economically."
