King and Hawk fires erupted on Aug. 14

King Fire is at 577 acres and 40 % containment

Hawk Fire is at 300 acres burned and 42% containment

California has several wildfires ongoing throughout the state and two in Northwestern Los Angeles County have reached over 40% containment as of Aug. 15.

The King Fire erupted on early morning Aug. 14 in Gorman and the Hawk Fire sprouted up in Acton around 3 p.m. the same day, according to CalFire.

The causes for both fires are unknown, CalFire said. No injuries or damage to structures have been reported.
