PALESTINE, Texas — An East Texas coach, who was reprimanded by the UIL last year , is set to face its state executive committee for another reported violation.

Westwood Athletics Director and Head Football Coach Richard Bishop will go before the UIL State Executive Committee Monday morning in Austin for a hearing after a referral from the District 9-3A Executive Committee.

According to the committee meeting agenda, Bishop is accused of failing to comply with the Athletic Code or the Athletic Code for Coaches in the UIL Constitution and Contest Rules.

In October 2024, the UIL State Executive Committee issued a ruling suspending Bishop from all football activities for the rest of the 2024 football season.
