A mission leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in Mexico City is recovering after being shot Saturday during an attempted robbery.
President R. Tyler Wallis, president of the Mexico Mexico City West Mission, was shot once by an intruder in the mission home at approximately 2 a.m. local time. His wife, Sister Elizabeth Wallis, was not injured during the incident.
“President Wallis is currently receiving medical care in an intermediate care unit in Mexico City,” said church spokesman Sam Penrod in a statement . “He is in stable condition, responding well to treatment and under observation.”
