The unpredictable weather patterns that have characterised the UK this summer are set to persist, with temperatures falling into single figures as a rainstorm sweeps across the nation this month. Weather maps from WXCharts reveal a wave of damp and cold weather sweeping across a 600-mile stretch of the country on 27 August, covering all but eight counties, from the northern Highlands down to Plymouth in the southwest.
The disruptive conditions could start to take hold from midday on 27 August, forecasts suggest, with the heaviest rainfall centred around the East Midlands and southern Scotland.
The only regions predicted to escape the rainstorm are Aberdeenshire, Somerset, Middlesex, Kent, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. While the UK is currently experien
