KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- 816 Day is a celebration of everything that makes Kansas City so great.

“So, it's really just about all the love in Kansas City,” said Brian Benton, creator of 816 day.

He says that when it started nine years ago, there were only a couple hundred people that attended. Now, there are celebrations all over the city, including at the Power and Light District.

“A lot of the amazing talent that we have, fashion, food, art, music, entertainment, all the things I love about my city.”

Up and down Grand Street, vendors sold local clothing, products, food and art. Local food trucks lined Walnut Street, selling everything from soul food to Bolivian street food.
