SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -Police confirm a man has died after a car hit two pedestrians in Springfield Friday night.

According to Springfield Police, officers responded to a car crash in the 3200 block of W. Chestnut Expwy at around 9 p.m.

Tyler Reid, 34, of Springfield, was driving an SUV eastbound on Chestnut and hit two pedestrians who were in the roadway. Both pedestrians were transported to the hospital, police say.

Police say Ronnie Wake, 56, of Springfield, died from his injuries. The second pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

This is Springfield’s 14th fatal car crash in 2025, which resulted in 15 deaths.
