CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — The Clarksburg-Harrison County Public Library hosted its Author Series on Saturday with former Clarksburg Mayor Jim Hunt discussing his book Moving to the New Facility and How It Was Accomplished.
The book is a personal account of when Hunt served in the 119th Engineer Company, West Virginia National Guard, and helped relocate more than 30,000 books from the Waldomore Library to the newly constructed library on Dec. 9, 1975.
Hunt told those in attendance what it was like for his platoon to hand-carry tens of thousands of hardback books like a water brigade fighting a fire.
