For driving drunk this spring, Bradley Bedard has been fined $1,500 and won’t be driving for a year.
Ontario Court Justice Edward Prutschi said it was just a matter of luck that police stopped Bedard before he got into an accident that night.

“When you have this amount of alcohol in your system, the reality is that forensics have determined conclusively you don’t have the same reflex time,” Justice Prutschi told Bedard.
The Crown and defence lawyer Michael Venturi had suggested Bedard’s punishment.
Bedard, 20, pleaded guilty to the charge of within two hours of operating a conveyance, having more than the legal allowable level of alcohol in his system (commonly known as blowing over and over 80.)
