WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A nursing facility in Luzerne County is helping students prep for back-to-school.
Edenbrook in Wilkes-Barre hosted a back-to-school giveaway Saturday afternoon. Organizers say the residents wanted to give bookbags full of school supplies to the staff at the facility.
A couple of friendly faces and paws made an appearance, with Newswatch 16's very own Kurt Aaron and Ranger in attendance.
Nursing Home Administrator Ellen Byron says, "We do it for the community, everything is free, anywhere from 65 to 70 backpacks were put together for the local students for the area, ranging from pre-K right through to high school."
Folks also got to enjoy face painting, a blow-up obstacle course, and food trucks.
