MADISON (WKOW) — A new pre-professional women's soccer team is coming to Madison.

Big Top Events LLC, owner of Forward Madison FC, announced Saturday the launch of a USL W League franchise, set to begin play in May 2026.

The new club, temporarily named USL W League Madison, will be the first women's sports franchise at Breese Stevens Field, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2026.

“This day is long overdue in Madison," said Conor Caloia, chief operating officer and partner. He expressed pride in creating a pathway for women to become professional soccer players in the city.
