BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ – A U.S. Postal Service box truck careened through a suburban neighborhood early Saturday morning, smashing into five parked cars and flipping onto its side in a destructive chain-reaction crash that shut down Veterans Boulevard for hours.
The chaos began around 5:35 a.m. when the 30-foot mail truck struck a parked vehicle in front of 371 Veterans Blvd and continued veering right across two front lawns, slamming into multiple vehicles before overturning in a driveway.
The vehicle skidded more than 200 feet before crashing into the neighboring property.
Three of the struck vehicles were parked across two driveways.
The truck came to rest on its left side with no reported damage to the homes.
