The Padres picked a bad time to play arguably their worst game of the season. The 6-0 loss to the Dodgers might not look like it was their worst outing of the season but that final score could (and perhaps should) have been much, much more lopsided.
Perhaps we all should have known how this one would go in the top of the 1st inning. Fernando Tatis Jr. led off with a single off his former teammate Blake Snell ... only to get caught stealing 2nd base. Luis Arraez doubled and Manny Machado reached on an infield single ... only to have Machado thrown at at 2nd base on a double steal attempt.
In all the Padres ran themselves into three outs on the bases in the first two innings then decided to just stop getting guys on the basepaths as Snell allowed five hits in 6.0 shutout innings. Even if t
