FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The annual Northwest Arkansas Little League Field of Dreams tournament took the diamond again this weekend in Fayetteville, raising funds for the Alzheimer's Association.
Five teams are playing for a chance at winning the championship on Sunday. However, this isn't any old baseball tournament; it's the mission of Sam Perroni.
Perroni built the field in his backyard for his grandsons to play baseball in but turned it into a way to support a cause close to his heart.
"My wife had contracted early onset Alzheimer's, so we decided we would do it for Alzheimer's research and so that was six years ago. We did one practice one, and then now this is our fifth official one," Perroni explained.
Perroni's wife recently passed but he wants to continue the tradition of the tour
