Franklin County commissioners are seeking feedback after an engineer’s estimate found the cost to repair a landslide on Old Highway 100 to be nearly $2 million.

Part of the road, just east of the Washington city limits, has been closed since May 9 because of the slide, which has damaged the roadway and grown in size. Old Highway 100 is expected to remain closed when classes start next week at South Point Elementary School and for months after that. The highway is typically a main connection between the city of Washington and the school. ×
