DERBY, Kan. (KAKE) -- The first week of school is officially over, but one Derby High School teacher is returning to her classroom with two jobs -- teaching students and fighting a cancer diagnosis she says she only received last month.

Christina Gizzarelli says she's taught for Derby Public Schools for nine years, but she's been at Derby High School as a Biology Teacher for the last seven years. She says she has a reputation for being an exciting and engaging instructor.
